Why are you famous?
I helped to make hospitals cleaner and wrote books about how to be a good nurse.
Did you study?
Yes I did. It was not common for a woman to study but my father taught me different subjects like Science, Maths, History and Philosophy.
Where are you from?
I'm from Florence, Italy.
Why are you called "The lady with the lamp"?
Because I visited the soldiers at night when everybody was sleeping to make sure they were okay.
Were you awarded a prize?
Yes, I was. Queen Victoria awarded me the Royal Red Cross medal
