My name is Florence Nightingale. Im also called the lady with the lamp.

I helped to make hospitals cleaner and wrote books about how to be a good nurse.

Yes, I was. Queen Victoria awarded me the Royal Red Cross medal

I'm a nurse. I like to help people get well.

Yes I did. It was not common for a woman to study but my father taught me different subjects like Science, Maths, History and Philosophy.
Why are you called "The lady with the lamp"?
Because I visited the soldiers at night when everybody was sleeping to make sure they were okay.
