  • Crunchy
    Definition: Making a sharp noise when bitten or crushed and (of food) pleasantly crisp. Example: The apple was crunchy and fresh.
  • Refreshing
    Definition: Food with a lot of water content. Makes you feel less tired or hot. Example: The watermelon was refreshing on a hot day.
  • Sweet
    Having the taste of sugar. Example: The cake was sweet and delicious.
  • Greasy
    Containing a lot of oil or fat. Example: The fried chicken was very greasy.
  • Hot
    Having a lot of heat, often making your mouth feel like it is burning Example: The chili was so hot that I needed water.
  • Mild
    Not strong in flavor or heat. Example: The sauce was mild, so it wasn't too hot.
  • Delicious
    Definition: Having a very pleasant taste. Example: The pizza was delicious.
  • Savoury
    Definition: Having a nice taste and/or smell. Example: The soup was savoury and filled the room with a wonderful aroma.
  • Dry
    Definition: Opposite of 'juicy', Example: The chicken was overcooked and dry.
  • Lumpy
    Definition: Full of lumps, not smooth. Example: The mashed potatoes were lumpy and not smooth.
  • Spicy
    Having a strong, hot flavor. Example: The curry was very spicy and made my mouth tingle.
  • Stale
    Processed foods (e.g. bread, cakes, biscuits) that are no longer nice to eat. Stale bread is only fit for toasting. Example: The bread was stale and dry.
  • Creamy
    Smooth and thick, often made with cream or milk. Example: The soup was creamy and rich.
  • Rubbery
    Definition: Lacking firmness, vegetables such as carrots are often rubbery when they are not fresh. Example: The old carrots were rubbery.
  • Nutty
    Definition: Tasting or smelling like nuts. Example: The cake had a nutty flavor.

    Tasting of or containing salt. Example: The chip

    Definition: Plain and not tasty. Example: American food is too bland for my taste. I prefer spicy food.

    Definition: Hard to chew. Example: The overcooked steak was tough.
  • Sour
    Having a sharp, acidic taste. Example: The lemon was very sour.
  • Tender
    Definition: Easy to bite or chew, not tough, e.g. meat, chicken. Example: The steak was tender and juicy.
  • Juicy
    Definition: Full of liquid or flavor, e.g. fruit, steak. Example: The orange was juicy and refreshing.
  • Wholesome
    Definition: Good for your health. Example: The meal was wholesome and nutritious.
  • Chewy
    Definition: Requires a lot of chewing. Example: The candy was very chewy.
  • Crispy
    Definition: Crispy Pleasantly thin, dry, and easily broken. Example: The fried chicken was crispy on the outside.
