  • How do we prevent constipation through diet?
    Eat foods rich in fibre and drink lots of water.

  • What is constipation?
    When you are unable to expel faeces from the large intestine.
  • How do we prevent gastroenteritis? (3)
    1) Do not consume foods after their date of expiration. 2) Do not eat food that looks or smells bad. 3) Wash your fruits and vegetables before you eat them.
  • How do we prevent cavities? (3)
    1) Brush your teeth! 2) Eat less sweets! 3) Visit the dentist!
  • What is diarrhoea?
    The frequent expulsion of faeces.
  • What should people do if they are lactose intolerant? (2)
    1) They should not consume dairy products with lactose! 2) They can consume dairy alternatives, like soy milk or almond milk.
  • What causes cavities?
    Bacteria that live in the mouth!
  • What foods do you have to avoid when you have coeliac disease?
    Foods that contain gluten, like wheat and other cereals.
  • What is the difference between diarrhoea and constipation?
    Diarrhoea involves passing (expelling) liquid faeces frequently. Constipation is when you have hard, dry faeces that are difficult to pass (expel).
  • What is an intolerance?
    An inability to eat a food without bad effects.
  • What causes diarrhoea?
    When small and large intestine cannot absorb what is in them.
  • How do bacteria in the mouth damage our teeth / cause tooth decay?
    They feed on leftover foods and sugars, and produce acids that damage our teeth.
  • Lactose is a carbohydrate. Where is it found?
    In milk and most other dairy products.
