עָסוּק הָיָה
he was busy
עַל שֶׁבִּלְבֵּל
that he mixed up
לֹא הָיָה שָׁם,
he was not there
יְצוּעֵי אָבִיו
the bed of his father
בְּשַׂקּוֹ וּבְתַעֲנִיתוֹ
with his sackcloth and his fasting
וַיָּשָׁב רְאוּבֵן.
and Reuven returned
שֶׁהִגִּיעַ יוֹמוֹ
that his day arrived
וּבִמְכִירָתוֹ
and at his selling
דָּבָר אַחֵר,

לֵילֵךְ וּלְשַׁמֵּשׁ אֶת אָבִיו
to go and serve his father
