  • What is an immigrant?
    An immigrant is a person who comes to live in a place.

    People that work or are the right age to work.
  • What is migration?
    Migration happens when people move from one place to another.
  • What are adults?
    People between the ages of 16 and 65.
  • What are children?
    People younger than 16.
  • How do we calculate population growth?
    We need to know the birth rate, death rate, the number of immigrants that arrive and the number of emigrants that leave.
  • What are elderly people?
    People older than 65.
  • What is the inactive population?
    People who are not able to work (children or retired people).
  • Why do people migrate?
    To work, to study, to escape natural disasters, and to escape war and violence.
