  • Explain the main functional difference between veins and arteries?
Veins collect blood from the body and take it to the heart. Arteries take blood from the heart to the rest of the body.
  • This system includesa pump, a circulating fluid, and a network of vessels.
    The cardiovascular system
  • These take blood from the heart to the rest of the body.
    Arteries
  • What is the main difference between red blood cells and white blood cells?
Red blood cells don't have a nucleus and white blood cells have a nucleus.
  • These connect arterioles with venules. They allow liquid to pass through their wall.
    Capillaries
  • Where do capillaries transport blood to?
They take blood to all the cells in the body.
  • These collect blood from the body and take it to the heart.
    Veins
  • Name the two parts of the circulatory system.
    Cardiovascular system and lymphatic system
  • Why are red blood cells red?
They contyain haemoglobin - protein containg iron that transports oxygen to cells
  • What are the four parts of the heart?
left and right atrium, left and right ventricles
  • 90% of this is water. Also it contains nutrients, hormones, ions, proteins, and metabolic waste.
    Blood plasma
  • Name the three type of blood vessels.
    arteries, capillaries, and veins
