Phrasal verbs

To make water, electricity etc. flow: I turned on my phone when I got up. Encender.

To leave your home to spent time in a different place: I love going away to new places at the weekends. Irse.

To stop sleeping: I woke up at 7am, but didn't get up until 8am. Despertarse.

To reduce the level of noise/light that something produces: "Can you turn down the music? It is too loud." Bajar/disminuir.

To take care of: She stopped working to look after her children. Cuidar.

To get out of bed: I got out of bed at 8am. Levantarse.

To make water, electricity etc. stop flowing: I always turn off the light when I leave the room. Apagar.

To put on clothes etc. to see if they fit: I tried on the shoes before buying them. Probarse.

To record in writing: I wrote down everything that the teacher said. Anotar/apuntar.

To get rid of something you don't want: I threw away an old, broken sofa. Tirar/deshacerse de.

To move from place to place: I like getting around the town on bike. Desplazarse/moverse.
