  • A shot in which people or objects appear small in the landscape.
    Extreme long shot
  • Shows a person’s head and shoulders which lets you see facial expressions.
    Close up
  • Shows a figure from about the head to waist. You can easily recognise the person in shot.
    Medium shot
  • The camera points upwards.
    Low angle
  • A shot in which a figure can be seen from head to toe.
    Long shot
  • The camera looks down.
    High angle
  • Containing a wide view.
    Panorama
  • A view from a high angle as if seen by a bird in flight.
    Bird’s eye view
  • From just above the eyebrows to just below the mouth, or even closer. Used to emphasise facial expressions.
    Extreme close up
  • A shot in which we see a character or main object over another’s shoulder.
