The manager politely asked the customers to form a queue.

"Would you please form a queue?" the manager said to the customers.

He asked me if I would mind closing the window.

"Would you mind closing the window?" he asked me.

He wondered why they were late for the meeting.

"Why are they late for the meeting?" he wondered.

They announced that the next train would arrive in ten minutes.

"The next train will arrive in ten minutes." they announced.

The lifeguard warned the children not to run near the pool.

"Don't run near the pool!" the lifeguard warned the children.

My friend asked me whether I wanted to go to the cinema or not.

"Do you want to go to the cinema or not?" asked my friend.

He told me not to wait for him.

"Don't wait for me." he said to me.

She ordered us to be quiet during the presentation.

"Be quiet during the presentation!" she ordered us.

The teacher asked who had invented the telephone.

"Who invented the telephone?" asked the teacher.

She explained that she couldn't come to the party because she was feeling ill.

"I can't come to the party because I am feeling ill." she explained.

She begged her friend not to tell anyone her secret.

"Please, don't tell anyone my secret!" she begged her friend.

She asked me if I had finished my homework.

"Have you finished your homework?" she asked.

The doctor told him to take the medicine twice a day.

"Take the medicine twice a day." the doctor said to him.

He said that he was very tired after the long journey.

"I am very tired after the long journey." he said.

My mum asked me to help her with the shopping.

"Can you help me with the shopping, please?" my mum said to me / "Please help me with the shopping."
