Disguised or Literal Messages

Your science teacher announces that your class has the best average of all the classes and says, "You are as smart as whips."

Your dad brought home flowers for your mom, today. You say, “Well, aren't you a thoughtful husband.”

Your report card didn't come in the mail. You say to your mom, “No news is good news.”

You return from summer vacation and see your teacher from last year in the hall. She says, “You sure are growing like a weed.”

You saw your friend get off the bus with a big smile on her face. You say, ”Wow, you are cheerful this morning.”

You brought your teacher her favorite candy bar. She says, “Well, you are sweet, thank you.”

You enjoy watching TV at night after dinner. You say, “ It’s my time to chill out.”

Halloween is this month. It’s not your favorite holiday because you don’t like costumes. You say, “ I guess, everyone has their own idea of fun.”

Your sister baked some cupcakes for the first time. After tasting it, you say, "To be completely honest, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth."

Your friend asked you to come over this weekend. He suggested skateboarding. You say, “ I’m worried I might break a leg.”

You woke up in a bad mood. Your sister says, "I guess you got up on the wrong side of the bed."

It’s really hot outside today, You say, “ Wow, it’s a scorcher out there today."
