  • Your teacher in showing you how to do a math problem. You want to ask her if you can play a game after class. What should you do?
    Listen carefully to what she is explaining, then ask her after she stops talking.
  • You are at a store and see a person fall down and get hurt. The employee is helping another customer. What should you do?
    Interrupt them! The other person could be hurt and need help.
  • Your mom is telling you about your family's plans for the weekend. You want to ask her where you are going? What should you do?
    Wait until she is done giving the plans, then ask her.
  • You just got to your classroom. You want to ask your teacher what to do. You see that your teacher is typing on the computer. What should you do?
    Wait until she stops typing, then say, "Excuse me. Can you tell me what I am doing today?"
  • You are at home. Your mom is talking on the phone. You see that the stove is boiling over. What should you do?
    Interrupt. "Hey mom. The stove is boiling over!"
  • You are at work. You want to take a break. Your boss is helping a customer. What should you do?
    Wait until your boss finishes. Then say, "Excuse me. Could I take my break now?"
  • You are at a store. A customer is talking on the phone and walking out of the building. The patron drops their wallet. What should you do?
    Get their attention - tap their shoulder/say "Excuse me. You dropped your wallet!"
  • You need to get something from a teacher. You get to the classroom and see that she is talking to anther student. What should you do?
    Knock on the door. Wait for her to finish up and call you in.
  • You are in speech therapy and Ms. Meredith reads a story about football. You want to tell her about the football game you saw on TV. What should you do?
    Listen to her story carefully and answer the questions. Then, when you are done, tell her about the football game.
  • It is Monday night. You need your mom to sign a form for work. It is due tomorrow. Your mom is talking to your dad about the electric bill. What should you do?
    Wait for them to finish talking.
  • Your dad is talking to a coworker on the telephone and you smell gas in the basement. What should you do?
    Interrupt him! Gas leaks could be dangerous!
  • You finished your task at school. Now you need a new task. You go to ask your teacher and he is talking to another teacher. What should you do?
    Wait for your teacher to stop talking. Then ask
  • You are at a fast food restaurant. You are confused about what to do with your tray. You go to ask an employee and see them texting on their phone. What should you do?
    Say, "Excuse me. Could you help me with this please?"
  • Your dad is watching his favorite show. You want to ask him to take you for a walk. What should you do?
    Wait for a commercial or for the show to end.
