Should I interrupt?

  • You didn’t hear what pages you need to do for your homework assignment and it is time to leave for the day. What should you do?
    I can raise my hand and ask the teacher or ask a classmate.
  • Your teacher is explaining a new topic. You feel confused and need to ask a question. Should you interrupt?
    You can ask when they are done explaining and raise your hand to ask your question.
  • Two people are having a conversation about Mario and you want to join the conversation. Should you interrupt?
    Once there is a good break in the conversation, you could tell them that you also want to talk about Mario, or you can ask to join.
  • Your friend is telling you about a new book they read. It sounds interesting and you want to know more. Should you interrupt?
    You can ask them your question when they are done explaining it to you
  • Your friend is explaining why they are sad but, you didn’t hear what they said. Should you interrupt?
    Once they are done explaining, or there is a good break in the conversation, you could ask then to repeat themselves.
  • Your parent is on the phone, and you feel sick. Should you interrupt?
    You can interrupt by saying "Excuse me" and telling them you don't feel good.
  • Your friend tells a joke, and you want them to know that you found it funny. Should you interrupt?
    Wait until they are done telling the joke, and then you can let them know.
  • A classmate is talking about a cool movie they saw, you want to say that you saw it too. Should you interrupt?
    Once they are done talking, or there is a good break in the conversation, you could tell them that you also saw the movie.
