Why do you think it is important to make eye contact with people when greeting them?
Because if you don't make eye contact the person will not know you are talking to him/her and this will confuse the person.
Show me or tell me 2 non-verbal signals
Wave, good posture, smile, eye contact
How would you greet a stranger walking down the street?
You don't!
Stand up and dance!
Woo hoo!
You are at a funeral (i.e. someone died) and you say "Hi" to a family member you see when you first walk in. Would smiling be a good non-verbal signal in this case?
No! Why?
Your principal says hi to your first thing in the morning? How do you greet him?
Hello, Hi, Good morning
Act out how you would greet your friends first thing in the morning at school.
