  • This organelle is found in both plant and animal cells and allows certain materials to pass in and out of the cell.
    Cell Membrane
  • This organelle is the control center of the cell.
    Nucleus
  • This surrounds the nucleus and protects it, as well as allows materials to pass in and out of the nucleus through pores.
    Nuclear Envelope
  • This organelle sits inside the nucleus, and is like the "mini" nucleus.
    Nucleolus
  • The gel-like fluid that fills the cell.
    Cytoplasm
  • This organelle has ribosomes on its surface and makes and processes proteins
    Rough ER
  • This organelle is found only in plant cells and it is the rigid outer layer that gives the cell shape.
    Cell Wall
  • This organelle is found in animal and plant cells. It is larger in plant cells and hold food, water and waste.
    Vacuole
  • The organelle breaks down materials in the cell and acts as the clean up crew.
    Lysosomes
  • This organelle receives proteins and other materials to package them and distribute them to other parts of the cell.
    Golgi Body
  • The organelle that makes energy - ATP for the cell.
    Mitochondria
  • This organelle makes proteins and is found on the rough ER.
    Ribosomes
  • This organelle is only found in plant cells. It allows plants to capture energy from the sun to make food for the cell.
    Chloroplast
  • This organelle is inside the nucleus that contains the genetic material for the cell in strands
    Chromatin
  • This organelle makes lipids (fats)
    Smooth ER
