Assertive, Passive, or Aggressive Communication?

Your coworker at the deli keeps taking extra long breaks, especially during busy times. You get stuck working the crowds alone. You don't want to make him mad so you just suck it up.

It's time to turn in a big assignment at school, but you're not done yet. You meet with your teacher before class to let him know you don't understand the assignment and need help.

You're at your IEP and you feel like your parents and teacher are picking on you. They seem to be pointing out all the mistakes you've made this year. You get up and storm out of the room.

Your boss points out some tasks you were supposed to complete that you forgot about. You sarcastically respond "I guess you should've given me a check list"

Jim is a coworker that always makes fun of how you dress. He thinks he's being funny but it really upsets you. You just 'roll with it' and try to ignore it, even though it's embarassing.

Your significant other and you are going out for the evening. Everytime you go out, they pick the activity. You want to share your idea of a new movie that's come out but you're afraid they'll think it's boring.

Your mom wants you to take the trash out. She's been nagging you all day about it. The 3rd time she brings it up you tell her "Seriously mom - LIGHTEN UP. I'll get to it whenever!"

You're at your new fast food job. Your best friend just came in and asked you to slip her some free fries. You tell her you can't do that or you'll lose your job.

Your boss just taught you how to change the spark plugs last week, in your automotive job. But you forgot some of it and ask him to review the steps with you again.

Your best friend borrowed $10.00 from you two weeks ago, and keeps "forgetting" to pay you back. You tell him that you really need your money back to buy your lunch today.
