Laura babysat her nephews last weekend. The kids threw a ball in the house and broke a vase. They ran up and down the stairs and made lots of noise. They colored on the wall with crayons. Laura was exhausted when the weekend was over.

Most people have dogs or cats as pets, but did you know that ferrets make great pets, too? Just like dogs and cats, they need to go to the vet, but they're not hard to take care of. They are playful and can be trained to use a litter box.

Mrs. Jones is writing the homework on the Smart Board. The students in her class are watching her write. They are taking out their planners and pencils. Once Mrs. Jones is finished, they will copy their homework down.

David and Robert went to a baseball game. They went to watch their favorite team play. They sat behind third base. They bought hot dogs and ate them while they watched the game.

Michelle is going to a birthday party on Saturday. She needs a dress to wear. She is on her way to the mall to buy a new dress. She hopes she finds a dress at one of the department stores.

Camping is not fun. There are no beds, and you have to sleep in a sleeping bag. At night, there are all sorts of bugs and animals making noises. They may even crawl in your tent. It is boring because you can't watch TV or play video games.

Did you know laughing is good for you? Laughter helps your body fight disease, reduce stress and lower your blood pressure. Laughing 100 times does the same for your body as biking for 15 minutes. Go have a laugh, it's good for you!

Many kids take Karate. You may think it's so they can learn to fight and defend. However, Karate is a marital art that teaches to "never attack first." It is about improving yourself on the inside. It keeps your mind strong and healthy.

Zack was walking to school. All of a sudden, it started to rain. Zack took his umbrella out of his book bag. He also tried to avoid the puddles by jumping over them. Then, he continued walking to school.

Think carefully before buying a cat. The average lifespan is 15 years, so they are a big commitment. Owners have to spend time with their cats to take good care of them. They also need to go to the vet for checkups to keep them healthy.

Throughout its lifetime, a butterfly goes through Metamorphosis. A butterfly begins life as an egg, and then hatches into a caterpillar. Then, the caterpillar creates a chrysalis. An adult butterfly then emerges from the chrysalis!

Even though deserts don't get much rain, many animals and plants that live there. Kangaroo Rats can survive without water because they get moisture from the seeds they eat. Cacti have a waxy coating that keeps water from evaporating.
