Susan: "Why did you leave, Alice?"
Susan asked Alice why she had left.
I asked her what time she'd be home that night.
"What time will you be home tonight?"
"At the time of the robbery, I was having lunch at this café."

He asked me if I could tell him where the station was.
“Can you tell me where the station is?”
I told Karl that I would help him with his homework over the weekend.
“I’ll help you with your homework over the weekend, Karl.”
Jack: "A few months ago, my flatmate started learning the violin."
Jack said that a few months earlier, his flatmate had started learning the violin.
Mario said that he was having fun there with his family.
“I’m having fun here with my family.”
She asked Ollie whether he was still living in the same flat.
"Ollie, are you still living in the same flat?"
"We'll be going to Greece on holiday next year."
They said they'd be going to Greece on holiday next / the following year.
They told us to be quiet.
"Be quiet!"
