  • I meet a new friend who tells me about the school, I ask how long he has been here and what he likes best? He tells me climbing trees and then I share that I love climbing trees to and we decide to find some to climb later together.
Superflex - I showed interest as well as share my own ideas
  • I am talking to a new friend and they say they like watching youtube. I get excited and say me too and then talk all about my favourite channels
Might be one sided sid. I could ask first what things do you like watching and see if they watch anything the same, then tell them about my channel.
  • I am in break and we are sitting on chairs. A friend comes to sit down and I really want to pull the chair away so they fall on the floor, but I stop myself as they might get hurt or angry and then it won't be funny.

  • A new friend is telling me about their dog at home. I see people playing basketball in the distance and the ball is bouncing towards me. I grab it and run and join the others.
Braineater. I could show I have listened to my friend and reply and then say I want to go and join the basketball game, do you want to come too?
  • I am talking to a new friend and they are telling me about the routines at the new school. I reply and say do you like minecraft?
Braineater - brain got distracted from what they were saying. I will try and refocus my brain or ask them to repeat, and then see if they like minecraft.
  • I go into school and say hello to new friends and I tell them all about myself, my hobbies, my holidays and my families
One sided sid - it is nice to share interesting information, by asking questions and listening to the other person I will find shared interests
  • My friend is talking about playing the violin. I want to jump in and tell him all about the instrument I play. I stop myself, listen, ask him a question and then share my own idea.

  • My teacher is summarising the lesson at the end and I am looking in my bag to check my nintendo switch is there so I can play it after
Braineater. When my nintendo switch pops into my brain I will notice it and then refocus myself and check and play later.

  • I play football with new friends at lunch and one the boy in goal is really bad so I say 'are you always this rubbish?'
Mean jean - saying he is rubbish will make him upset and not help the game - I will keep that thought in my head and focus on my own game.
  • Its night time and I go out of my room in the dark walk up the corridor knock loudly on another boys room and run back to my room.
Was funny once. I may scare and wake someone in the middle of the night. It is not the right time for silliness. I can wait until playtime.
  • At dinner we are in the lunch hall. When one of the boys turns around I take the water cup. They turn around confused and others laugh. I then do it again and again up to 5 boys.
Was funny once. The first time seems funny. Repeatedly its gets a bit boring and annoying and I will get in trouble, even if they do find it funny.
  • I am eating lunch in the hall. I don't like the peas so I start rolling them down the table one by one. Initially someone laughs and I do it more.
Was funny once. Sometimes people laugh out of awkwardness, they won't get in trouble but I will, I will wait until its playtime to be silly
