SW1: While English speakers understand their language perfectly enough, it is far from a superior language.

W: People feel pressured to learn influential languages that they lose parts of their own languages. .

SW2: It is easy to see how English has been influenced by other languages, but it is still its own language.

SW2: The might of the US and influence of Britain has shaped English into a language that is used internationally and in major global issues.

W: While English is its own language, it is really made up of a bunch of languages.

SW2: This makes one wonder why English is such a popular language to learn.

SW2: When a language represents the soul of a community, shouldn't we try to save it from disappearing?

W: English is not the most logical or coherent language.

W: English has become so popular because of the dominance of the British empire.

SW1: The power and influence of Britain and then the US made English essential for economic success around the world.

SW1: When generations are forced to learn other more influential languages, they are also forced to give up a part of themselves, as well.

SW1: English shares mainly French and Germanic roots, but this doesn't mean English speakers understand these root languages.
