Past Continuous vs Present Perfect Continuous

In the past continuous the form is verb -ing + was/were

We (were driving / drove) home when a deer suddenly (was jumping / jumped) in front of the car.

She ____ (read) a book yesterday when her friend arrived.

I ____ (try) to reach you for two hours.

I ___ (wait) for Janne when she ___ (arrive)

I (have been filling out / was filling out) the form for three hours.
