  • A drawing that shows what something looks like.
  • A page in the beginning of the book that shows the reader the different section or chapter titles and where they are located.
    Table of Contents
  • Text under or around a photo or illustration. It explain what is happening in the image or what the image is about.
    Caption
  • Identifies the topic and tells us what the text is about.
    Title
  • The title at the top of a page or section that helps the reader identify the main idea for that section.
    Heading
  • More headings that come after the main heading to break the sections of text up even more. They help identify the main idea for that section.
