This is the largest land animal. It has big ears, a long trunk, and tusks. It lives in families and has a great memory.
Elephant
This big cat is strong, has a golden mane (if male), and lives in groups called prides. It's called the king of the jungle.
Lion
This wild cat is covered in dark spots, can climb trees, and is very quiet when it hunts.
Leopard
The fastest land animal. It has black tear lines on its face and can run up to 100 km/h.
Cheetah
This animal has a very long neck and long legs. It eats leaves from tall trees and walks slowly and gracefully.
Giraffe
It looks like a horse but has black and white stripes. Each one has a different stripe pattern.
Zebra
A wild pig with big tusks and a flat face. It often runs with its tail up and makes loud grunting sounds.
Warthog
A very large animal that lives in rivers and lakes. It has short legs, a big mouth, and can be dangerous.
Hippopotamus (Hippo)
This heavy animal has thick skin and one or two horns on its nose. It can run fast but has poor eyesight.
Rhinoceros (Rhino)
A big, strong animal with curved horns. It can be aggressive and lives in large groups.
Buffalo
A monkey with a dog-like face. It has strong arms, lives in troops, and is loud and active.
Baboon
The biggest primate. It’s very strong and lives in forests. It walks on its knuckles and is intelligent.
Gorilla
A large reptile with a strong jaw, sharp teeth, and a long tail. It lives in rivers and can stay underwater quietly.
Crocodile
A long animal without legs. Some are poisonous. They can live in trees, on the ground, or in water.
Snake
The biggest bird in the world. It cannot fly, but it runs very fast and has a long neck and big eyes.
Ostrich
A tall bird with pink feathers and long legs. It stands on one leg and eats small things from the water.
