Historians can explore the past by analyzing sources, investigating artifacts and cave paintings, and even analyzing origin stories or creation myths from different cultures. What can a creation myth tell them about a particular culture?
It can tell them what they believed in (gods/goddesses), meaning their religion and how they thought the world was formed.
Myths are, essentially, stories. They have characters, a plot (actions/events) with conflict, setting, and resolution (what happens at the end). What are two conventions of creation myths?
They have gods and goddesses with superpowers and they explain a natural phenomenon.
