Why do scientists use seismograph?
Because they can measure the movement of Earth's surface caused by earthquakes so they can understand the effects of earthquakes.
What are the three different types of tectonic plates movements?
1. A tectonic plate can crash and slide under another plate, slide past another plate, or move away from another plate.
What are the two effects of earthquake?
People may be injured or even die and buildings and homes can be damaged.
What causes an earthquake to happen?
The movement of tectonic plates causes the ground to shake suddenly and violently.
What are the common features of a volcano? List them from the deeper parts of our Earth.
Magma chamber, vent, crater, ash cloud, lava
List the Earth's layers from the top to bottom and describe each of their state of matter (liquid, gas, solid).
Crust (solid), Mantle (semi-liquid), Outer core (liquid), Inner core (solid)
How does a volcanic eruption happen? Explain clearly (use words: pressure, temperature, mantle)
A volcanic eruption happens when the temperature and pressure in the Earth's mantle become too high.
Is volcano the same as a mountain? Explain the differences.
A volcano is a mountain with an opening for magma and gas beneath the Earth to escape. They are formed in the breaks of Earth's crust.
