What is the process for finding and interpreting context clues?
1. Identify the unknown word/idea. 2. Re-read the sentence. 3. Identify context clues 4. Make an educated guess. 5. Try that guess and see if it makes sense!
What are some word clues we can look for?
Identifying the base words, roots, and affixes or identifying parts of speech such as noun, adjective, or verb.

A word with the opposite meaning.

A word with the same or nearly same meaning.
What are some example clue words we can look for?
“such as,” “including,” “consists of,” “like,” or “for example.”
