Not all liquids mix—
oil and water never mix!
Some mixtures are
hard to separate, like sugar in tea.
Some mixtures are
easy to separate, like cereal and milk.
A mixture is when you
mix things together.
🎯
Summary:
👉 If you pour oil and water together,
the oil just floats on top. They stay apart!
5. Do all liquids mix?
Nope! Some liquids do not mix at all.
👉 Like food coloring in water—
it’s gone! You can’t just scoop it out.
Once something dissolves,
you can't take it out again.
👉 For example,
when you mix drink powder in water, it disappears and the water changes color and taste. That’s called dissolving.
4. Do some things disappear in water?
Yes! Some things dissolve in water.
👉
That means it’s an easy mixture to separate.
And guess what?
You can usually take the solids out of the water again.
👉 Try putting paper and a stone in water—
paper floats, but the stone sinks!
3. What happens when you mix solids with water?
Some things float, and some things sink.
👉
You can even take them apart again using your hands or a spoon.
2. Can we still see the parts?
Yes! In some mixtures, you can still see each part, like pieces of cereal and nuts.
👉 Example:
If you mix rice and beans in a bowl, that’s a mixture!
🧪 What is a Mixture?
A mixture happens when you put two or more different things together.
