No, it stays "yesterday" since the time reference is still valid.
What happens to the adverb "here" in reported speech?
It changes to "there" unless the place remains the same.

How does "last week" change in reported speech?
It changes to "the previous week" or "the week before".

If the information is still true or the reporting verb is in the present.

How does "must" usually change in reported speech?
It often changes to "had to," but sometimes remains the same (e.g., "You must leave" → "She said I had to leave").
Which tense does not move 'further back' in reported speech?
Past perfect (e.g., "I had finished" → "He said he had finished").
Change to reported speech: "I'll try to fix it," he said.
He said he would try to fix it.
Change to reported speech: "We drove all night," they said.
They said they had driven all night.
