Why is the compass rose useful?
Because the compass rose is used to show how the map lines up with real directions. In many cases maps are printed so that north is at the top.
How can we calculate distance on maps?
We can calculate distance using the scales provided on the maps.
How can the Earth be divided?
It can be divided into 4 hemispheres: Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western.

A globe is a sphere that show the true shape and size of the continents.
