Playlist

a recorded song or instrumental that becomes broadly popular or well-known.

Hit

The action of making a recording or other product available to the public

Release

an album made by recording a performance before an audience.

Live album

an event for which all tickets are sold.

Sell-out

a band that performs before the main one in a concert or other performance

Support band

the assembled spectators or listeners at a public event such as a concert

Audience

an assessment of the accuracy, fidelity, or intelligibility of audio output from an electronic device.

Sound quality

the main singer in a musical group

Lead singer

a person who writes popular songs or the music for them.

Songwriter

a form of entertainment, offered typically by bars and clubs, in which people take turns to sing popular songs into a microphone over pre-recorded backing tracks.

Karaoke

a device that translates sound vibrations in the air into electronic signals and scribes them to a recording medium or over a loudspeaker.

Microphone

a pair of earphones joined by a band placed over the head, for listening to audio signals such as music or speech.

Headphones

the words of a song in popular music.

Lyric

a regular, repeating pulse that underlies a musical pattern.

Beat

a part of a song which is repeated after each verse.

Chorus

a series of concerts by an artist or group of artists in different cities, countries or locations.

Tour/ to tour

a collection of several pieces of music, made available as a single item on a CD, the internet, etc.

Album

a person who plays a violin

Violinist

someone who plays the piano

Pianist

a person who entertains people by acting, singing, dancing, or playing music

Performer

someone who directs the performance of musicians or a piece of music

Conductor

a group of people who sing together

Choir

a group of musicians who play modern music together

Band

a musical instrument, usually made of metal, that is played by blowing into it to make a reed vibrate.

Saxophone

a tube-shaped musical instrument with a hole that you blow across at one end while holding the tube out horizontally to one side

Flute

a tube-shaped musical instrument that is played by blowing through a single reed

Clarinet

a wooden musical instrument with four strings, that is held vertically between the legs and is played by moving a bow across the strings

Cello

a box-shaped musical instrument consisting of a folded central part with a keyboard, played by pushing the two ends towards each other

Accordion

A musical instrument consisting of a metal tube with one narrow end, into which the player blows, and one wide end. Three buttons are pressed in order to change notes.

Trumpet

A large group of musicians who play a variety of different instruments together.

Orchestra

A person skilled in music; esp., a professional performer, composer, or conductor of music.

Musician

A set of adjacent keys on a musical instrument such as the piano, organ and synthesizer.

Keyboard

It is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, United States, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and developed from roots in blues and ragtime.

Jazz

Rap together with this music.

Hip-hop

A person who plays the guitar.

Guitarist

A type of musical instrument. In most cases it consists of a shell with a stretched skin, or covering. When the covering is hit with a hand or a stick, it vibrates and makes a sound.

Drums

A person who plays recorded music for an audience.

DJ

A person who writes music, especially as a professional occupation.

Composer

Serious music following long-established principles rather than a folk, jazz, or popular tradition.
