Delimiter between question and answer:

Tips:

  • No column headers.
  • Each line maps to a question.
  • If the delimiter is used in a question, the question should be surrounded by double quotes: "My, question","My, answer"
  • The first answer in the multiple choice question must be the correct answer.

A value or values that can be substituted for a variable in an equation to make the equation true, the answer to a math question.
solution
To give a value, or meaning, to mathematical expressions, such as symbols and formulas.
interpret
Two integers whose product is one.
Multiplicative Inverse
Two integers whose sum is zero
Additive Inverse
To reduce to a simpler form by cancellation of common factors, regrouping of terms in the same variable
Simplify
Numbers or quantities that are the same.
Equivalent
What comes out of a function, also called y-value, range, and dependent variable
Output
What is put into a function, also called x-value, domain, and independent variable
Input
Any value for the variable would make the equation true. When solving the equation, both sides are equal.
infinitely many solutions
No value for the variable would make the equation. When solving the equation, you are left with unequal constants.
No Solution (Null Set)
Only one value for the variable would make the equation true. When solving the equation, you are left with a variable equal to a constant.
One solution
a property indicating a special way in which multiplication is applied to addition of two or more numbers in which each term inside a set of parentheses can be multiplied by a factor outside the parentheses, such as a(b + c) = ab + ac
Distributive Property
Expressions that contain the same variables to the same power
Like terms
A mathematical statement showing two expressions have the same value.
Equation
Operations that undo each other, such as addition and subtraction or multiplication and division.
Inverse Operations
An equation whose graph is a line.
Linear Equation
Mathematical statements that have a minimum of two terms containing numbers, variables, or both. These terms are connected by an operation such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division.
Expression
A symbol written above and to the right of a mathematical expression to indicate how many times the mathematical expression (base) should be multiplied by itself.
Exponent
A symbol for a value that is unknown. It is usually represented with a letter such as x or y.
Variable
A letter or number representing a numerical quantity that multiplies a term.
Coefficient
A term with a fixed value in an expression or equation. A constant is not affected by any changes in the variable.
constant
A value on which mathematical operations take place in an expression. Also, a number in a sequence or series.
