Define comma splicing.
Use of commas to separate two independent clauses where comma+verb+ing, full-stop, colon, semi-colon or connective are more appropriate.
Define tautology.
Use of two or more words which are actually synonyms/convey the same meaning e.g. The journey was boring and monotonous.
What rule is true of colons and dashes that isn't true of semi-colons.
