Urinary System
A system responsible for disposing of waste and maintaining fluid balance in the blood.
Endocrine System
A system that produces hormones to help regulate renal reabsorption, and the kidneys dispose of wastes and produce the hormone erythropoietin.
Integumentary (Skin) System
A system that disposes of waste and toxins absorbed through the skin. The skin also synthesizes vitamin D needed for calcium absorption in the kidneys.
Nervous System
A system that removes nitrogenous waste and reabsorbs nutrients essential for healthy nerve function, such as potassium and sodium.
Reproductive System
A system that disposes of wastes and maintains the fluid balance of the blood to help maintain reproductive organ health.
Respiratory System
A system that disposes of nitrogenous waste, maintains fluid balance of the blood, and provides oxygen required by the kidney cells.
Skeletal System
A system that produces erythropoietin, a hormone that helps in the formation of red blood cells. The bones of the rib cage protect the kidneys.
