Continuing Education
non-credit courses for adults that may be taken for personal or general interest, or to improve work-related skills.
Elementary school
school for children, K-7; ages 5-13 (sometimes called 'primary school')
Middle school
some schools in BC are for grades 6-9, ages 10-15.
Post-secondary
education for students who have finished secondary school. Sometimes referred to as 'tertiary education' (especially in British English)
Secondary school
school for students in grades 8-12, usually ages 13-18. Also known as 'high school.'
Tuition
The cost of attending private schools or post-secondary institutions
Tutors
people who teach students one-on-one. Teaching is usually in a home or office, not in classroom. Students usually pay tutors.
