    It's the distance of a place from the equator. The places that are closer to it have hotter climate and more precipitation.

    Because they can warm a location or make it colder.

    Because the sea has a cooling effect in summer, and a warming effect during winter.

    They have low vegetation, a wet and a dry season, they can be temperate or tropical, grazing mammals (that eat grass) live there.
