What are biomes?

Very large areas in the world that have similar vegetation, climate and animal life.

What are the 4 types of biomes?

In northern parts of Russia and Canada.

How does climate affect biomes?

Precipitation and temperature affect what can grow and live in a location.

Name some factors that affect climate.

Latitude, ocean currents, altitude, distance from the sea.

What is latitude and how does it affect climate?

It's the distance of a place from the equator. The places that are closer to it have hotter climate and more precipitation.

How can ocean currents affect climate?

Because they can warm a location or make it colder.

How can distance from the sea affect climate?

Because the sea has a cooling effect in summer, and a warming effect during winter.

How can altitude affect climate?

Places with higher altitude usually have colder temperatures.

Give an example of a grassland.

Pampas in Argentina or Serengeti in Kenya

What do you know about grasslands?

They have low vegetation, a wet and a dry season, they can be temperate or tropical, grazing mammals (that eat grass) live there.
