If I mix water and sand, what are some properties that will not change.
The water is still a liquid and the sand is still a solid (physical state). The color. The mass. The texture.
How can we tell if a substance in a mixture keeps its physical properties?
The substance can be separated from the mixture. The substance will still have the same physical state, etc...
What are some ways to separate the substances in a mixture?
Hands, tweezers, colander, sieve, magnets....
Can we still identify the parts of a mixture after they are combined? Why or why not?
Yes because the properties of each mixture are the same.
