🟡 A clock has
2 hands:
15
Short hand = Hour hand
– It tells us the hour.
15
Long hand = Minute hand
– It tells us the minutes.
15
⏰ What does
“o’clock” mean?
15
“O’clock”
means the minute hand is pointing at the 12.
15
When it’s o’clock,
the time is exactly on the hour, like 1:00 or 2:00.
15
🕓 Example:
Look at the clock.
15
The short hand is pointing at
4.
15
The long hand is pointing at
12.
15
✅ That means it’s
4 o’clock!
15
We write it like this:
4:00
15
If the short hand is at 7 and the long hand is at 12, it’s
7 o’clock.
15
If the short hand is at 10 and the long hand is at 12, it’s
10 o’clock.
15
💡 Remember:
Only when the long hand is on 12, you say "o’clock".
