I’m where the land meets the sea,
With sand and shells surrounding me.
People come to swim and play,
Under the sun on a summer’s day.
What am I?
Beach
I’m dark and deep, a hidden place,
You need a torch to see my face.
Bats may live inside of me,
And echoes bounce for all to see.

Cave
I stand up high and touch the sky,
Snow may cover me where birds fly by.
Climbers love to reach my top,
But it’s a long and tiring hop.

Mountain
I’m wide and deep and full of waves,
I hide some ships and secret caves.
You’ll find big whales inside of me,
I’m the largest part of the sea.

Ocean
I am the edge where land meets sea,
With cliffs or beaches next to me.
Waves crash here both night and day,
Where boats and birds all find their way.

Coast
I’m dry and hot and full of sand,
With very little water on my land.
Cactus grow and camels pass,
But you won’t find much green grass.

Desert
I’m hot and wet and full of trees,
With monkeys swinging in the breeze.
I hide wild creatures big and small,
And leafy plants that grow so tall.

Jungle
I twist and turn and never stop,
From mountain high to valley drop.
I carry water day and night,
And help the land stay green and bright.

River
I look like a mountain, calm and still,
But inside I have fire that can spill.
When I erupt, I shake the ground,
With lava flowing all around.

Volcano
I fall but never touch the sky,
I rush and roar as I go by.
From cliffs I tumble with a sound,
And crash into the pool below the ground.

You sweat and fan yourself all day,
The sun is strong, it won’t go away.
You want some shade and lots to drink,
It’s warmer than you even think!

You wear a scarf and gloves so tight,
Your breath comes out like smoke at night.
Your nose turns red, your cheeks are blue,
The chilly air goes right through you.

The sky is dark, the thunder roars,
Rain is pounding on the doors.
Lightning flashes through the sky,
Better stay inside and dry.

I blow your hat right off your head,
And make the trees dance in their bed.
You feel me rush across your face,
I move so fast from place to place.

Windy
Be careful when you walk on me,
I’m slippery as I can be.
I form when water gets too cold,
I’m clear and hard, just like I’m told.
