How did we get the Bible?
God carried the writers along by the Holy Spirit and gave them His words by inspiration (breathing them out).
Why did God give us the Bible?
For us to get to know Him, to praise Him with our whole hearts, to have an accurate worldview, to know the big story of the world
The three parts of the true big story of the Bible
Creation, Fall, Redemption
Why do we need the Bible to know God and His plan?
Only God knows the whole story, and He has told us in the Bible about Himself, His plan for the world, who we are, and what we should and shouldn't do.
What will happen if we don't know God and His plan?
We make up our own big stories in which we are the good guys, and we get to determine right and wrong.
What does it mean that God is eternal?
He exists outside of time. To God, there is no concept of time.
What does the world "inspiration" mean?
"breathed it out" which refers to how God gave us His word
How can God tell us the end of the story of His world?
God planned the end from the beginning and has already finished the story. He has the power to make the end of the story happen.
How did God create His world?
"very good"
How will God relate to humans in the future?
God will live eternally with those who have repented and trusted in Christ.
How has God related to humans since Creation?
God has dwelt with those humans who are humble and repentant. He has kept His promise to care for their needs.
When did the problems of the world enter?
after man sinned
How was God's creation of humans unique?
God made humans in His image.
What are the two parts of the Creation Mandate?
Multiply and fill the earth. Subdue the earth and have dominion over it.
The way God designed His world to be and to work is called what?
creational structure
Why have we not lost the image of God because of our sin?
The image is never erased.
