The MEF English Language Preparatory Program uses a modular system.

How many levels are there in the MEF English Language Preparatory Program?
There are five levels: Level 1 - A2, Level 2 - A2+ , Level 3 - B1, Level 4 - B1+ , Pre-Faculty - B2
What is the starting level in the MEF English Language Preparatory Program?
The starting level may change depending on a student’s performance in the level test. A student may start the first module with any level from A2 to B2.
Can a student finish all five levels by the end of Summer School if they start from Level 1?
Yes, a student has the opportunity to finish all five levels by the end of Summer School, but it is possible they may need to return for a second year to complete the levels.
How long can students take to complete the university English preparatory program in Turkiye?
Students can take up to two years to complete the university English preparatory program in Turkiye.
What can students do when they finish prep in the middle of the semester (after module 1 or module 3?)
They can take elective courses, Literature and/or Media lessons.
Can a student request a level change in the middle of the year?
No, level changes can only be made in Module 1 after the placement test.
Is IELTS an accepted external exam?
No, IELTS is not accepted.
How many modules are there?
There are 5 modules: 2 modules in the first semester, 2 modules in the second semester, and 1 module in summer school.
Which external exams are accepted?
TOEFL IBT, CPE, CAE, YDS/e-YDS, PTE-Academic
