    Foolery! In 1957, the  BBC television program ran this famous joke.

  • Crustless Bread: For those who just hate crust and are too lazy to cut it off, Sara Lee made crustless bread. Available in stores everywhere!
    Fact. This actually was a new product by Sara Lee in 2002.

  • The Pepsi-Cola company askedteenagers to tattoo themselves with its logo. In return, the teenagers received a 10 percent  discount on the company’s products. Teenagers werehappe and made the tatoos.
    Foolery!  That was a practical joke on National Public Radio in 1994.

  • Prehistoric Penguin pictures: In 1991 scientists found prehistoric pictures on the walls of an underwater cave in  France. The pictures showed that penguins and man lived side by side in France a lot of time ago
    Fact. The penguin pictures were found in 1991 by deep-sea divers in a cave.

  • A left-handed burger: Burger King published an advertisement and said about a new burger on the menu: a “Left-Handed Burger” specially designed for  lefthanded Americans.
    Foolery! This joke was made in 1998 by Jim Watkins, vice president  at Burger King.

  • Whistling Carrots: Tired of overcooking the carrots? Now there’s a solution. British scientists made a genetically modified “whistling carrot.” Air holes inside the carrot makes it whistle when it is cooked.
    Foolery! It was advertised by Tesco, a British supermarket chain, in an  advertisement in The Sun in 2002.

  • Carrots Reclassified as a Fruit: In 1979, officials in the European Uniondecided  that carrots are not a vegetable but are actually a fruit.
    Fact. People in the European Union did classify carrots as a fruit in a 1979 document.

  • Purple Carrots: A British supermarket said that it started selling purple carrots for picky children..
    Fact. In 2002, Sainsbury began selling purple carrots.

  • In Ireland, there was news about a cat who gave birth to her four baby kittens  in a bird’s nest.
    Fact. In Louth County, Ireland people found a cat with 4 kittens ina bird's nest.

  • A gentleman bought two puppies from a man who said they were good watchdogs.  Two years later, the man saw a wildlife program and learnt  that his dogs were really  black bears.
    Fact. The bears were taken a wildlife centre  after the man called the Zoo.
