2nd Grade 2D & 3D Shapes Review

  •  English    16     Public
Lets review everything we have learned for geometry having to do with everything shapes in 2D and 3D form. You will need a dry erase board (or geoboard; or both).
  •   Study   Slideshow
  • What does a square look like? Show me on your dry erase board or geoboard.
  •  15
  • How many sides does a square have? Identify them on your geoboard or dry erase board.

  •  10
  • How many vertices does a square have? Show me on your dry erase board or geoboard.
    4
  •  15
  • Explain what vertices are and tell me what was the clue that I taught you to remember.
Corners (looks like a "V" and can bend arm to see it as the elbow is the vertice)
  •  20
  • What does a circle look like? Show me on your dry erase board or geoboard.
  •  5
  • How many sides and vertices does a circle have and how do you know? Explain. Show me on your dry erase board.
Zero and looks like the letter 'O' (no straight sides that connect)
  •  20
  • What does a triangle look like? Show me on your dry erase board or geoboard.
  •  5
  • How many vertices does a triangle have? Demonstrate it to me showing me what you created on your dry erase board or geoboard.
    3 vertices
  •  10
  • How many sides does a triangle have? Demonstrate it to me by showing me what you created on your dry erase board or geoboard.
  •  15
  • What does a hexagon look like? Show me on your dry erase board or geoboard.
  •  5
  • How many vertices and sides does a hexagon have? Show me on your dry erase board or geoboard.
    6 sides and 6 vertices
  •  20
  • How many triangles do you need to make a square? Show me with the shapes provided at your team table, draw on dry erase board, or show on geoboard.
    2 right triangles
  •  15
  • What does two trapezoids make when composed together? Show me on your dry erase board or geoboard and name it.
Creates a hexagon, which has six sides.
  •  15
  • What would a rectangular prism look like when decomposed or put apart? What shapes make the rectangular prism?
2 square bases and 4 rectangular faces (which has a total of 6 faces).
  •  25
  • What does a 3D shape look like if you had three triangles and one square?
    A pyramid.
  •  10
  • How many faces does a cube have? Draw it on your dry erase board the best you can, show me, and tell me.
2 square bases and 4 square faces all around which makes it 6 faces total.
