Rib Cage

A flat bone that forms the middle portion of the rib cage and can be felt just under the skin in the middle of the front of the chest.

Attached only to the vertebral column at the back. They don’t articulate with the sternum, their anterior tips being free.

Arise from the thoracic vertebrae at the back but don’t attach to the sternum directly.
