B2 First is targeted at Level B2 on the CEFR. (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

The listening paper contains four parts.

Candidates have to show that they can produce one piece of writing.

Reading and Use of English lasts for 1 hour.

In 'Writing' part 2 you might write an article, an informal email or letter, a formal email or letter, a report, a review.

It covers all four language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – and includes a fifth element focusing on the candidate’s understanding of the structure of the language.

The number of words on the writing tasks is 200.

B2 First is a qualification at intermediate level.
