These trees grow best in lush forests and on moist mountainsides. It is the official tree of BC. It has cones which means it is coniferous. Look on the ground and you'll see tiny brown cones. They can live to up to 1000 years!
Western Red Cedar.ย ย Coastal people used all parts of the tree. Wood is used to build canoes, paddles, houses, boxes, totem poles, and tools.ย
