How we do know if we/someone else talk too little?

You and your siblings are coloring together. Your sibling says, “Can you pass me the blue crayon.” You say, “Sure,” and hand it to them.

Tom saw that his friend John was wearing a cast on his leg. Tom went up to John and asked, “Do you want to play?” John said, “Okay.”

You're playing jump rope. You say to your friend, “I want a turn!” They say, “Let try a few more times, I almost got it!” You say, “No you don’t. Let me go!” They say, “A few more jumps and then you can go." You shout, "No, now!"

How do we know if we/someone else are talking too much?
