Some boys organise a weekend kick without realising Deon had work that day. On Monday, Deon seems distant when they talk about it.

A classmate says, “Nice one, mate,” in a sarcastic tone after Deon drops his books.

A friend cancels plans last minute, saying he’s tired. Deon later sees photos of the friend at another mate’s house.
