    an appeal based on logic or reason
  • claim
    to say that (something) is true when some people may say it is not true - The position you are trying to get others to accept.
  • fact
    something that truly exists or happens : something that has actual existence
  • structure
    the way that something is built, arranged, or organized
  • rebuttal
    to prove (something) is false by using arguments or evidence/demonstrating why the counter-argument is wrong.
  • explanation (bridge or warrant)
    Statement that explains how the evidence supports and connects to the claim
  • central idea
    the main idea of a piece of writing
  • opinion
    a belief, judgment, or way of thinking about something : what someone thinks about a particular thing

    a statement or fact that explains why something is the way it is
