Zona Central
This zone extends from the Copiapó river until the Aconcagua river. Also, rainfalls are presents in this zone, as well as the decrease of aridity. Finally, transversal valleys and the flowering dessert are present.
Norte Chico
This zone extends from the Visviri river until the Copiapó river. Also, it is characterized by the lack of water and the arid landscapes. Finally, this zone presents a high-altitud, plain area called “altiplano”.
