Modal verbs: possibilities in the past
Juan didn’t arrive at the meeting on time (use must have + could have)
take the wrong bus - oversleep - forget the meeting - get stuck in traffic
María was very tired this morning. (Use might have + shouldn't)
work late - go to bed too late - wake up several times - have a stressful day
Pedro spent all his money and now he can’t pay the rent. (Use may have - couldn't have)
buy something expensive - not plan his budget - lend money to someone - forget about the rent
